Being a Student Takes Practice.
Club Rad is a place to practice, figure things out, and get better at this complicated thing called school.
Growing Independence Takes Support.
For Families
We want our kids to become independent, but getting there isn’t as simple as stepping back. They’re learning the academics and how to manage everything that comes with them. They still need someone in their corner.
Academic Support
Get unstuck.
Sometimes you just need someone to explain the thing.
Independence
Make it yours.
Plan it. Remember it. Follow through.
Self-Advocacy
Ask better questions.
“I don’t get it.” → “Here’s where I’m stuck.”
Joy + Curiosity
Stay curious.
Books. Games. Clever problems. Big questions.
Middle School Study Hall
Their place to land.
A place to show up, get to work, and have someone there when you need them. Homework, unfinished classwork, a missing assignment, fractions even though you’re in algebra. Whatever it is, we can figure it out together.
Also: snacks, games, other kids, and room to have fun.
Other Ways to Club Rad
Sometimes you need something more specific.
1:1 Tutoring
A quieter place to focus.
Individual tutoring is available on a limited basis, primarily for elementary students and students who do their best work with focused one-to-one support.
Placement is based on fit and availability.
Writing Lab
Better writing comes from writing.
A small group for playing with sentences, developing ideas, organizing thoughts, and practicing the skills that will make writing clearer and stronger.
Practice, support, and a little room to play.
Small-group support for building foundational skills, working on what’s happening in class, asking questions, and learning alongside other kids.
Elementary Learning Lab
For the Grown-Ups
You’re part of this, too.
The goal is more independence, not less involvement.
We want kids to learn how to manage more of school on their own, while still keeping parents in the loop. I will share what I’m noticing, and we can figure out together where to step in and when to let them handle it.
Once a month, we will have a parent Zoom, too.
These informal monthly parent education chats will center around a theme, like executive functioning, the use of AI in education, or whatever seems to be coming up.
